...CaS(E) sketch and CoLoR CHaLLenGE...

Here's a sketch/color challenge combo that I worked on Wednesday night...

GreaT CAS(E) this sketch...clean and simple is a WoNDeRFuL starting point for me...I really just need a basic layout...I don't often KeeP it clean and simple...buuuuuuut that's a whole 'nother issue :)

...and here's this week's color combo over at the CoLoR THroWDoWN CHaLLenGE...

I have to admit...these colors threw me for a bit of a loop...it was the gray and kraft-y color together that had me wondering how things would turn out :)

Here's my finished product...I found a pad of paper that was just PeRFeCT...MME...kraft FuNday HaPPy DaY..the number paper made me think of this cute FaWN LawN set...JusT My TypE...

Here's my paper pieced phone...I think I need a red and kraft polka dot phone!!  It would match my house EXaCTLy!!...

...and here's a close-up of my button detail...still the same button/twine-y bow combo that I seem to be stuck on...but I layered a few more buttons on there...it looks a little more masculine to me this way...and this color combo seemed boyish...so I tried to keep the FRiLL to a minimum.

...and the envelope...good gravy...it's the same exact layout as EVeRY envelope I've done lately...I'm thinking I need to break out of this vertical strip rut on the next one!!!


I am SeRiouSLY LoVinG this pad of paper...it's SuPeR think and the patterns are just AMaZiNG!!

There will definitely be another post using this week's CoLoR Challenge :)

...SweEt CoLoRS...

I used the Sweet Sunday sketch and...

and the gorgeous colors in this week's Color Throwdown

to make this ...

I used a cute Paper Smooches that hasn't seen the light of day in ages...I think my coral may be a little on the orange side...but...I tried :)

 ...and for the first time I cut a circle in the card and glued the scooter on by just the wheels...so you see through into the card

After I took the first set of pictures, I decided it needed a little sparkle so I put some around the edge  :)

The envie is in the back...

Here's a side view that shows the foam tape and dimension on the scooter...I love how this turned out!

...Oh deER...

I combined this week's Color ThrOwDowN 

with the TaYLorEd ExPrEsSiOnS SketCH ChaLLenGe

The colors reminded me of some SuPeR old Stampin' Up paper I had...so after 20 minutes of digging through 6 million sheets of PatTeRnED PaPeR...

...I finally found it!! :)  

The fact that I remembered it and could find it at all means I'm sufficiently organized right?   RiGhT???? 

It in NO WAY indicates that I should perhaps SToP buying MOrE patterned paper...or find a better filing system...or purge some of what I have...CoRrEcT??? 

Okay...here's my card...

I just happened to have some baJa BrEeZe ribbon too :)  and it fit in perfectly with the TE sketch...I used a slot punch to thread the ribbon through...I kinda like how the squirrel  is hiding behind it.

The tree is 6 pieces...each section is cut out separately and the scalloped edge if folded back a little to give the tree some dimension IRL.

Sketch for this week...

The CaT's PaJaMa'S is hosting the challenge at card positioning system challenge this week, so I thought it would be nice to use one of their stamp sets...

...soooo....enough intro...here's my card...

I stamped and distressed the 3 panels of paper behind the main image...they turned out super cute, but you can hardly see them :(

The PiRaTe boys are a total crack up!!

I'm also linking up to TruLy ScRumPtiouS ChaLLenGe BLoG...where the challenge this week was DiStrESsing...I inked the snot out of my paper...it looks pretty beat up, old, and distressed to me :)

On a completely different note...I made a little tea towel for Connor's teacher who likes cats.  I thought I'd send in a little prize once a week for the month of OctoBeR...just because I think she works hard and deserves some TrEaTs!!

I used a Nancy Halvorsen Art to Heart pattern...I LoVe how his whiskers change coLoRs! :)

Here's the bag I put it in..It probably looks familiar since I just posted it a few days ago :) but I added that cute EmBeLLiSheD clothes pin that I thought was worth showing.
