...not blogging but still crafty.

Here's a quick update of the week in crafty pictures...

...the wheel of fortune our family donated to my son's middle school for their Fallfest...

the nice woodshop teacher at my hubby's school cut it out on his machine, hubby made the base and I painted

...and painted...and painted it...

the painting alone took probably close to 12 hours...those numbers were a nightmare!!

Halloween cookies I decorated at my mom's house

she made the cookies and I came over and made up the frosting and then we got busy 

this is my favorite set...it belongs to a very artsy, fashion forward witch ;)

a cute polka dot set....I completely copied the double dot idea from a picture my mom had...

I love it and will definitely do it again!

It was red ribbon week at Connor's school and one day was CraZy HaiR day.

I think this qualifies!

This picture was taken AFTER a full day of school...we use some SERIOUS product!

but the big time sucker this week was book club hosted at my house...

I'll blog some pictures of that tomorrow.

Today I'm off to the pumpkin patch with the daycare kidlets :)

It is such a blast!  I love the tractor ride and watching them run through the field of pumpkins.

They come home filthy and tired but happy.

...30 minute card...

here's just a SuPeR quick card I made based on

 3 different ChaLLenGeS 

the sketch was MoJo Monday

The color scheme was from 

CoLor ThroWdoWn

and the technique was from 

this week's JUGS ChaLLenGe

Seems like a lot to base one simple little card on....

Here's the card I ended up with...sooooo NoT me.

Not sure what happened...

I'm still not sure I like it...the colors are striking with the black...but I'm thinking I may need to try the sketch and technique again with a different color way...

Here's a closer view of my emboss resist web...I do like the pink background here...any way...I also only gave  myself 30 minutes to make the card...so that self imposed challenge may be what upset the apple cart ;)

....SpOoKy SwEeTs...

The nice shop teacher at my hubby's school made something for me, so I baked him some cookies yesterday.

I may have gotten a little carried away during the day making cookie dough...

3 different kinds of cookie dough.

So....I decided he could take some treats in to the school counselors too....He told me at the beginning of the year they were asking for cookies, but I don't bake when it's above 85...and we have had the longest continuous heat streak...I mean it was 104 on October 1st for heaven's sake!!

Any way...here are the packages I made up for the counselors...

Here you can see a little peek at the goodies...what you can't tell is how tiny those peanut butter blossoms are...those are chocolate chips on the top...the cookies are smaller than a quarter...not sure exactly what I was thinking last night as I rolled 200 microscopic cookie balls...but in person they are just the cutest things ever!!

There are also triple chocolate chip cookies, plain peanut butter cookies, and dark chocolate cookies with butterscotch chips and Heath bar pieces...those last ones are CRaZY good!!

Here they are sitting up on my HaLLoWeEn mantle ;)

...JuSt a LittLe CorNy...

I'm still stuck on that color scheme from yesterday ;)

the bLaCk, AqUa, OrAnGe colors just reaLLy appeal to me!!

so I made something else to LinK up to the

this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge which is

...HaLLoWeen SpiRiT...

Here's what I made...I added yellow even though there isn't any in the photo...the whole idea is for it to be INSPIRATIONAL right?  It was!!

I was totaLLY inspired to make this. ;)

...and he definitely has HaLLoWeeN SpiRiT...

I started seeing it in the car last night as we were driving home from delivering dinner to my hubby.  By the time I actually started it, I knew exactly what I wanted to use and the only auditioning that took place was for the ribbon...that is reaLLy unusual for me...I usually try out 7 different papers/sizes/shapes/textures for everything...

It's why the craft cubby generaLLy looks like a ToRNadO just swept through it.

I was looking at a blog the other day and found a link back to SCS for a tutorial on how to  make these adorable 

FLaT BacKeD TreAt BoXeS

...and I just knew that my LittLe handmade CaNdY CorN reaLLy wanted to sit on one!

I used some PTI Halloween stamps and a TE border stamp that coordinates with a spellbinders nestie.

Here's a close up of CorNy...just because he makes me smile whenever I look at him! 

I'm hoping to find a candy corn lip gloss to slide into the little box...it would be the perfect size and I think my niece would LoVe it ;)

...FriGhTFuL & DeLighTFuL...

I took a quick peek at the Mojo Monday sketch today...and it was sooooo calling to me...

and I'd had the Stampin' Celebration! October challenge bookmarked since Friday...

I just LoVeD the colors on this!

The orange, aqua, and that black and white ribbon on the top of the wreath?!?!  AwEsOMe!!

so...I made this....

I used the colors and the layout...except instead of putting it on a card....

I put it on a plastic card box and added a ribbon handle.

It will be soooooo cute when it's full of candy corn!

I could have shown you now, except that someone....who shall remain nameless but is 11, lives in my house, and who's name rhymes with Donnor....ate it all ;)

Here's a closer view of my pumpkin...it's just embossed oval punches layered together....I love how the PTI sentiment pops embossed in white on that black paper.

Here's a close up of the ribbon handle/button detail.

I just cheated and glued it on...hopefully, the recipient won't get too aggressive swinging it around or they may send their candy corn flying...I personally wouldn't consider that a big loss (candy corn is some NASTY stuff!) but I know it would bring tears to the eyes of some people...again...with names that rhyme with Donnor....

...FaNg-TaStiC...

so...again...the TE stamps are still all over my cubby...I won't hear about the contest results until Sunday...and then I'll be able to post the cards I made here on the old blog...I am even less patient than I thought...the waiting is killing me!  And I've gotten a little OCD about checking the Splitcoaststampers gallery where the ToP 10+1 are posting their final cards...I'm checking all the time and obsessing about how AmAZinG all the cards going up are! 

Any way, to try to take my mind off of it,  I decided to finish a project that I pulled everything out for a few weeks ago...I saw a sketch somewhere that made me think of the PTI ~take three~ die cut...and then I just started picking and pulling TaYLoReD ExPreSsioNs goodies and some PTI things...

Here's what I ended up with...it's hard to see, but Dracula is peeking out of the frame....

You can see it a little better here...as well as the way the spider web and line from the spider to the web are sparkly...I used embossing powder that I'd added some PriSMa glitter too ;)

If Donny Osmond was a cute vampire in a TwiLiGhT movie...this is what he's look like.

You can't really see it, but not only is he wearing a SNaZzY purple outfit...He's SpaRkLy!!

Hopefully I'll be willing to part with some of the HaLLoWeEn cards I make this year...all the ones from last year are still being hoarded...ummm...I mean...saved...in my drawers.

...cHriStMaS coming SooN...

sorry for the lack of activity here...life is getting in the way! :(

here's a quick HaLLowEeN goodie...

When I went to package up the daycare kiddos HaLLowEen treats....ON HaLLoWeEn (oopS) I realized what I bought wasn't going to fit into the adorable DoLLaR bin bags I had purchased at Target...YiKeS!!

So I ran out to the garage, and altered some white lunch sacks I had.  Thank goodness there's such a hoard stash of good stuff in my garage cupboards! :)

I've made 7 items for ChriStMaS gift ideas under $5 for our craft group that met last night...I proMise to PhotoGraPH those and start bLoggINg them tomorrow!   Stay tuned!

...FaNg-TaStiC...

Today I combined the MoJo MonDaY Sketch

With the Color Throwdown CoLors...

I went HaLLowEeNiE again...

I used the cute TaYLorEd ExPreSsiOnS set...FaNgTaStIc...I've been dying to ink up that little VaMpiRe! :)  You can't really tell, but the card is edged in MaRtHa StEwArT BlaCk LicOriCe glitter...it is SupeR cooL...black with green pieces in it...looks AwEsOMe in person!!

Here's a close up of my vampire...I'm not really sure why he's green...maybe he got into the HaLLoWeEn candy early?!?! 

 I cut out the cute pumpkin candy basket and glued on a Baker's Twine handle and it's actually put on his arm :)  His StRiPeD cape cracks me up!

I sponged the edges of my moon and outlined my haunted house in a super light gray...not sure I love that...but it looked really wrong with nothing...maybe next time I need to make a mask and sponge just a tiny bit around the edges...

...and here's the envelope.

Okay...this next picture has nothing to do with crafting...but it's funny...

It was crazy hair day at my son's school today...he just wanted his hair standing straight up...no mohawk...no colors...I thought it was really boring...

...but it made for a ~HiL-HaiR-ious~ photo op :)

...BeWiTcHinG...

I got a  SuPeR cute new WiTcHy stamp this week :)

So I used her in the new CaT's PaJaMa'S ChaLLenGe...since that's where she came from :)

Here's my card...

I used some Orange Zest PTI cardstock and everything else came from the SpOokViLLe we r memory keepers paper pad.  I adore the spiderweb paper in the back...it's too bad you can't see more of it...

WitChY is paper pieced and the circle she's standing on is fussy punched from the paper pad...LoVe how the moon and stars look in the background :)

This is one of those freakishly rare times when the card turned out exactly how it looked in my head...woo-hoo! :)

here's a close up of her...with her SwEeT little orange kitty! :)

...and this photo

was the inspiration over at CupCaKe InsPiRaTion ChaLLenGe...

...FraNkLy...he's DoTTy!!!!!

so...I might have taken just a few liberties with this week's MoJo MonDaY Sketch...

So here's the sketch...

...and here's my card...

It's all good and law abiding until you get to that center area...See...I did stick something behind the rectangle panel...but the shape and scale are waaAaAaay off...oh, well...hopefully the sketch NaZis won't catch that! :)  It's  such a small liberty...man...I must reaLLy be a RuLe FoLLowEr, cuz it bothers me! :)

Here's a close up of my pumpkin and my PoLkA DoTTy Frank...He CrAcKs me up!!!  I love that stamp!!  All stamps are PaPeR SmOoCheS and the paper is a stack I bought from tayLorEd ExPreSsions...but it came pre-cut, not in a pad, so I don't know who it's from...it's AwESoMe though!!!!

I'm also linking up to Wee MeMorIeS again...since this time I did use a PaPer SmOoCheS HaLLoWeEn stamp :)

...HaLLoWeEn MonStRosiTy...

here's my take on this week's SSSC...

here's the cute sketch...

I hand cut my monster out of felt and added a giant GoOgLy eye :)

He looks like the green cousin of a purple monster on the cute doodLe bug paper you can just see in the background on the card...
